Abstract

Voltage and current control PWM methods of a switched reluctance machine were compared experimentally. Tests were carried using a 3 kW prototype machine up to the speed of 9000 r/min. It was found that the voltage control method is superior to the current control method at high rotational speeds. It is also noted that high torque is available by the current control method at low rotational speeds.< <ETX xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">></ETX>
