Abstract

A series of monaural and binaural acoustical measurements were taken at multiple receiver locations from two source locations in four concert halls and in the concert configuration of four multi-purpose performing arts centers. Comparisons both within and among rooms were made to find similarities and differences in the measured acoustical properties of the two types of rooms. Specific investigations tried to relate how the architectural properties of the rooms affected the measured acoustical properties.
