Abstract
Using a pilot scale underfed stoker solid fuel combustor for the assessment of the fouling potential of three different coals including anthracite, Scottish and Columbian bituminous, it has been demonstrated that Na 2O content of ash and the chlorine content of the coal, are indicators of the fouling potential.
