Abstract

AbstractDifferent mean field homogenization methods are applied to a short glass fiber reinforced polybutylene terephthalate. The different models' predictions for the anisotropic effective elastic properties are assessed and compared to experimental data from tensile tests. Additionally, the estimation of fiber stresses and the influence of the fiber length distribution is studied. (© 2017 Wiley‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
