Abstract
Recent advances in IoT technologies have attracted quite a lot of interest from mobile network operators (MNOs). MNOs have already started to develop and implement IoT infrastructure. However, biggest concerns among MNOs are related to providing secure, high capacity, long range and battery friendly connections. In order to achieve these capabilities within MNOs' infrastructure, LP-WAN technologies can offer advanced solutions. Even so, most of the MNOs are now facing with the challenges of adopting the most suitable LP-WAN technology within their network infrastructures. Some of the emerging LP-WAN technologies can complement already existing infrastructure of MNOs or they can be built using a separate infrastructure. In this paper, we study comparisons of most prominent LP-WAN technologies with respect to their deployment possibilities within MNO's network infrastructures. Additionally, we provide an analysis of utilizing different LP-WAN technologies with respect to their possible integration with vertical industries.
