Abstract

This study examines the legal and practical problems of the Turkish prison system with special reference to the newly established F‐Type prisons for terror and organized crime prisoners based on single‐ and three‐person units. The article examines the practical situation in Turkish prisons by questioning the relationship between prison laws and prison practices to find out whether the source of the problem is the legal deficiencies or the arbitrary practices.
