Abstract

Abstract The efficacy of EMLA cream and amethocaine gel was compared using application times of greater than 60 minutes. Eighty eight patients received EMLA cream and 89 received amethocaine gel. Pain during venous cannulation was assessed by a single observer using a four point observational scale.
