Abstract

The distance between two equilibrium proton sites in symmetric OHO bonds and its isotopic variation, determined from precise neutron-diffraction data, has been compared with the predicted values which were derived previously by the author using correlation curves in hydrogen-bond parameters. It is shown that a fairly good agreement was obtained between the observed and the predicted values, indicating the validity of the empirical relations.
