Abstract
A shipboard intercalibration of nutrient analyses performed using a Technicon AutoAnalyzer (AA) and manually, using a Beckman model DU spectrophotometer, yielded the following relationships (in µm): urn:x-wiley:00243590:media:lno19721760931:lno19721760931-math-0001 where R is the correlation coefficient, and the number immediately following ± is the standard deviation. Both AA and manual methods give comparable precision, ±1 %, at present and no significant systematic discrepancies exist between the two technologies for phosphate and silicate analyses. A small discrepancy was found in the nitrate work.
