Abstract

Study Objective: Growing evidence exists for the benefits of surgical treatment for endometriosis including symptom relief and improvement in quality of life. Evidence on the possible risks of surgery related to urinary and bowel function is however limited. We set out to evaluate a change in urinary symptoms following conservative surgery to treat pelvic endometriosis using CO2 laser (n=24), monopolar excision (n=34) and a combination of both modalities (n=5) according to anatomical site of disease in 63 patients.
