Abstract
As the starting point of doctoral training, the enrollment of doctoral students is the primary link to ensure the quality of doctoral training. Doctoral education in the United States has gradually become "the model of doctoral education in the world" and is called "international academic gold standard". In order to accurately grasp the similarities and differences between China and the United States graduate enrollment system, this paper will focus on the four major elements reflecting the characteristics of the enrollment system, namely enrollment plan, enrollment (application) conditions, examination (application) content and selection process. Through the comparison, finally put forward the reform proposal.
