Abstract

This paper aims to provide a comparative study of synchronization effects of a single loop optoelectronics oscillator with a fixed narrowband RF filter (static BPF) and variable center frequency tuned filter (dynamic BPF). The instantaneous amplitude and phase equation of the proposed OEO has been derived. The variation in locking ranges with fiber delay, injection amplitude, and modulation index of a single loop OEO using dynamic BPF has been presented and compared with an OEO incorporating static BPF. Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) of the output reconstructed signal for two different filters has also been discussed.
