Abstract

This paper aims to study the effects of shading on a solar PV array configuration using various equivalent circuit models presented in the respective research and results which can lead us to find a better conclusion to get more efficiency under partial shading conditions. Understanding the effects of shading between Photovoltaic (PV) arrays and power outputs is important in efforts to find a good overall PV system performance. It will be easy to understand PV modules by using a generalized equivalent circuit diagram and their characteristics. In an open atmosphere, shading is the main factor that contributes to the deteriorated performance of solar PV panels. Knowing the exact amount of shading allows us to compose mechanisms to overcome the output effects caused by shading. The purpose of this paper is to identify how PV modules perform in different situations of shading through the study of various research papers.
