A Comparative Study of Violence Against Working and Non Working Women

Abstract

Violence against women is very serious problem. Violence is everywhere; India is conceders as a cultural country where women are worshiped. There is a Sanskrit shloka that is “Yatra naaryastru poogynte ramante tatra devathaha”, means where women is honored and worshiped there god lives. But in this era now one is caring about women. Women are suffering from different types of violence and abuses. In this article mentioned the Physical violence, psychological, sexual, verbal, financial and online abuse also taken for measurement. Data for the present study was collected by self-report interview schedules. Those who participated in the survey were women age from 28 to 40 years. Fifty of the respondents are working women and fifty are non-working women. Total 100 samples were collected randomly. For data analysis percentage, mean, sd and t-test are used. The results show that working women have more violence than non-working women. Percentage of different types of violence suffered by working and non-working women also shows the severity of the violence against women.
