Abstract

Summary. A comparative study of the course of the anterior superior dental nerve has been made. In all the types studied the nerve to the incisor teeth was derived from the maxillary division of the trigeminal nerve. The anterior superior dental nerve affords an example, in these forms, of a nerve crossing a suture line whilst traversing a canal in bone. Some of the implications of the observations have been mentioned.
