Abstract

Conventional two transistor CMOS inverter circuit finds a variety of applications in analog/mixed signal VLSI applications. In most of such applications, the inverter switching voltage plays a pivotal role and hence the stability of switching voltage over wide operating temperature range is of primary importance. This paper analyses and discusses the static thermal performance of switching voltages for a conventional two transistor CMOS inverter with that of classic CMOS Schmitt inverter. Software simulations were performed using Cadence Virtuoso simulation suite with 180 nm library. The results predicted by the theoretical model are close to simulation results.
