Abstract

The paper presents several compression algorithms, which are oriented to the vector Miss distance measurement, and based on short time Fourier transform (STFT), wavelet packet decomposition (WPT), and adaptive local cosine bases (ALCB) respectively. Meanwhile, a generic coefficients classification method based on clustering in time-frequency domain is proposed. And also an adaptive threshold to detect signal in time-frequency domain is given. The performance and complexity comparisons of these compression algorithms are studied. Experimental results show the performance of the compression algorithm based on STFT is related to the stationarity of Doppler signal, and the performance of the compression method based on WPT is comparatively stable no matter what the Miss Distance is, while the compression algorithm based on ALCB always has the excellent performance, but at the cost of high complexity compared with the compression algorithm based on STFT
