Abstract

A current trend in software development is reuse of personal software assets (mostly code assets) created by individual developers. As these collections of reusable assets grow, effective management of such assets is essential for promoting better reuse for its obvious cost benefits. Being able to effectively store, manage, access, and reuse code assets is a reasonable approach and sound goal. Tools have been developed to facilitate this goal. However, these tools vary in their capabilities and availability to individual users. This paper takes an in-depth look at commonly used management tools for personal asset, evaluate them, and highlight their distinct and common features. Extended version of this work may be obtained from the authors.
