Abstract

Nematosomes are cytoplasmic organelles that are encountered occasionally in the perikarya of many vertebrate neurons and less commonly in a variety of other cell types. The structure of nematosomes in autonomic ganglion neurons differs significantly from that in sensory ganglion neurons. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between nematosomes and other cell organelles and thereby gain some insight into their function.
