Abstract
1. 1. Hypoxanthine phosphoribosyltransferase activities in birds were compared with those in mammals. 2. 2. In the livers of chicken, quail and pigeon, the activities were much lower than that in rat liver, though the activities in the avian kidney were on almost the same level as that of rat kidney. 3. 3. The incorporation of [ 14C]hypoxanthine into acid soluble nucleotides and RNA was also very low in the avian liver.
