Abstract

Wavelet transform or wavelet analysis is a recently developed mathematical tool in applied mathematics. In this paper, we develop an accurate and efficient Haar transform or Haar wavelet method for well-known one-dimensional convection-diffusion (CD) equations. The proposed method has been compared with restrictive Taylor (RT) approximation and Krylov Subspace method (KSM). The stability region is discussed here. The numerical results are found in good agreement with the exact solutions. Moreover, the use of Haar wavelets is found to be accurate, simple, fast, flexible, convenient, to have small computation costs and to be computationally attractive.
