Abstract
The chirality (n, m) of single walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) in the samples produced by alcohol catalytic CVD method on quartz substrate and by HiPco (High-pressure CO technique) process has been determined using the optical absorption spectra of the samples and the composition in the two samples has been compared. It has been found that, the average diameter for the sample on quartz substrate is around 1.1nm and around 0.95nm for HiPco SWNTs. The relative abundance of nanotubes with respect to band gap energy in the samples has also been showed.
