Abstract

Background: Fractures of the radial head are most commonly undiagnosed among elbow fractures. Complications can occur if management is delayed or neglected. Though the management of these fractures has improved a lot, it still has a learning curve. 29 patients were divided Materials and Methods: into two groups Group A (17 patients) operated with excision and Group B (12 patients) treated with reconstruction. Follow up was done at regular intervals and post operative clinical assessment was done using Broberg and Morrey rating system Results and Conclusion: Out of these two procedures, the difference in Broberg and Morrey score was not signicant. But it was seen that in patients with Mason type II reconstruction showed better results than resection. In Mason III fractures, due to difculty in achieving anatomical reduction, results were not good with reconstruction when compared with resection
