A Comparative Research on Terminology Concepts for Strength of Pen Movement

Abstract

한국의 필적감정 용어인 필세(筆勢)는 고대 중국서예기법에서 유래된 용어로서 문자를 구성하는 점과 획의 위치와 방향을 확정하고 필기속도와 리듬에 의해 상호의존과 상호제약의 요소로서 서예의 주요 3요소의 하나이다. 그리고 필적감정의 측면에서 필기속도와 리듬 그리고 거시적인 관점에서 항상성의 판단 요소로서 필적의 위,변조와 개인식별의 중요한 지표로 사용되고 있다. 그러나 이러한 중요성에 비해 용어가 유래된 서예 문헌상의 개념이 총체적인 관점에서 현상의 측정에 대한 척도를 추상적이며 거시적 평가에 의지하고 있을 뿐만 아니라, 필적감정 문헌상에서 필세에 대한 구체적인 연구는 현재로서는 알려진 바가 없다. 본 연구는 필적감정 용어개념의 정립과 표준화를 위한 기초 작업으로 필세라는 거시적인 평가 개념인 필적감정 용어를 매개체로 서예문헌상의 개념과 필적감정 문헌에서의 용어개념을 비교연구를 하고자 한다. 이를 통하여 서예와 필적감정 용어간의 정체성 확인과 상호 관계를 모색함에 있어 필세용어의 방향성을 제시할 것으로 기대한다.The purpose of this study is to establish a term (필세; Strength of pen movement) for a crucial element of the forensic document examination. And compare it with the literatures related to eastern calligraphy and forensic document examination. A strength of pen movement is mentioned in the calligraphy technique of ancient eastern calligraphy literatures. This is one of three important elements of eastern calligraphy. In addition, in terms of forensic document examination, it is used as an important indicator of the detection of the forgery and alteration and the identification of individual handwriting. Compared to this importance, however, the literature relies solely on evaluating the basis of judgement from a holistic perspective. However, in the case of western FDE(Forensic document examination), the details are recognized as the whole of the collective. It is based on an analytical and atomistics perspective. and based on this, the outcome of the handwriting analysis was to overcome the limitations of the subjective parts. The study uses the medium of term (筆勢, Strength of pen movement) identify the concept of handwriting analysis and this is the groundwork for standardization.
