Abstract
Frequently, patients may need to have repeat examinations after their initial radiographs are rejected due to poor diagnostic image quality. This results in a potential delay in treatment, unnecessary radiation exposure to both patient and staff, and increased institutional operational costs. The study therefore seeks to determine the overall film reject rate, common reasons for film rejection and factors influencing same at Linden Hospital Complex, Public Hospital Suddie, West Demerara Regional Hospital, and New Amsterdam Hospital, over a two-month period.
