Abstract

We have observed the development in telecommunication technology from 1G to 4G. Nowadays, the flexible and wearable devices are achieving new place in market. To fulfill the requirements of these new changes, 5G technology is new area for researchers. With the advancement of technology, the need for antenna also changed. The conventional antennas operated on single band. With fast growing technology, the need for versatile antenna with compactness increased. To do so, the researchers focused on reconfigurable antenna. Reconfigurable antennas have variety of features over conventional antennas including capability to change its frequency, polarization, radiation pattern and combination of theses too. Reconfigurability reduced the need of number of antennas on single devices for different requirements. Multiband antennas are also employed in development of wireless applications to achieve wide range of frequencies at a time. With the reconfigurabilty and multiband technique, along with the compactness of design, reduction in cost and complexity also achieved. In this paper, reconfigurable and multiband antennas with different parameters are described.
