Abstract
The Druids of prehistory had an extreme impact upon the mythology and cultural development of the British people, the destruction of their knowledge and way of life dismantled an important part of the British soul that exists only in folklore and legend to this day. As a priest class of the British Isles and areas such as Gaul, the Druids existed as a central figure in the teaching of sacred knowledge. The invasion of the Roman empire and its desire to suppress the priest class of the Celts of prehistory seeks to display a lesson in the destruction of ancient knowledge and learning that was destroyed by the early modernization that Britain experienced under their new Roman rulers.
