Abstract

Abstract Wetting properties and surface topography of different polyester fabrics have been determined before and after their mechanical abrasion. As protective finishes, different surface active ether carboxylic acids were used. The influence of different weave types of the fabrics – woven and knitted – on their abrasive resistance was revealed. A comparative analysis between different ether carbon acids with respect to wettability of fabrics, surface topography parameters and mechanical treatment by abrasion was done.
