Abstract

A compact, low-cost, and planar UWB antenna with WiMAX and WLAN band notched is proposed in this paper. The whole band antenna consists of an octagon element, a microstrip feedline and a ground plane. To achieve the WiMAX band-notched, a pair of symmetrical inverse “L” sharp branches is added at the edge of radiation patch. A curly slot etched on the octagon patch is selected to generate the band-notched of WLAN. Influences of L1 and d are also studied in the paper. The total size of antenna is only 20mm×29mm. Simulated and measured results of return losses, radiation patterns and gain are presented and discussed.
