Abstract

A compact planar magic-T based on the quarter mode substrate integrated waveguide (QMSIW) resonator is proposed in this paper. A slot line is etched in the bottom layer to couple the energy out of the power divider and functions as the H arm of the Magic-T. The planar magic-T has a wideband characteristic since the QMSIW resonator has a very low Q factor, which has been demonstrated by the simulation results. The agreement between the simulation results and the measured data has verified the design of this wideband magic-T.
