Abstract
This paper presents a compact passive model of multiconductor transmission lines (MTLs) with frequency-dependent parameters. The development of this model is based on the generalized equivalent circuit model of MTLs where the original frequency-dependent RLCG parameters are transformed into frequency-independent ones. This model can be easily embedded into the discrete transmission line model based on compact finite difference scheme, and the precise time-step integration method is used to solve them in the transient analysis. In addition, since the passivity of the compact model is preserved, it is also compatible with the passive model order reduction algorithm. A numerical example is presented to demonstrate the validity and accuracy of the model.
