Abstract

A new method to improve isolation of MIMO antenna is presented in this letter. The main radiator is a monopole antenna. To reduce the mutual coupling among antenna ports, slots are inserted on the ground plane and the radiator is surrounded by four L-shaped parasitic strips. The simulation results show that the isolation of adjacent ports can reach below −20dB with the envelope correlation coefficient less than 0.1 at 2.4GHz. The results indicate that the MIMO antenna is suitable for 2.4–2.4835GHZ (WLAN) applications.
