Abstract

This letter presents a compact dual-band shared-aperture linear antenna array with a large frequency ratio for broadband antenna system applications. The tapered slot antenna (TSA) and dipoles are chosen and combined to achieve shared aperture. And a 12-element antenna array is designed to obtain dual-broadband properties. Base on VSWR <; 2 criteria, broad bandwidth of 123.5% (1.3 - 5.5 GHz) and 20.5% (30.2 - 37.1 GHz) are obtained for TSA and dipoles respectively. The dual-band antenna has a high design freedom for each band, and a large frequency ratio can be achieved easily with a compact size.
