Abstract

The flow ripple caused by the hydraulic pump is main source of the vibration and noise, so the attenuation of the pressure pulsation is significant to control the vibration. The attenuator with pressurized gas is commonly used in industry for broadband pulsation cancellation, and it also has advantages to absorb the pressure shock in the hydraulic system. A new hydraulic pulsation attenuator is designed in this paper, which can be embedded in the hydraulic piston pump, with the characteristics of good compactness and versatility. The fundamental equations are studied, and both time-domain and frequency-domain models are established. The software AMESim is employed to simulate and optimize parameters of attenuating pulsation effect such as pressurized gas volume and effective expansion and variable volume of bladder. Experiments are carried out, showing that the presented attenuator achieves good effect of suppressing fluid pulsation in the hydraulic system.
