Abstract

By adding multiple coupled complementary split-ring resonators (C-CSRRs) into balanced stepped-impedance microstrip-slotline transition structures, a balanced quad-band bandpass filter (BPF) is proposed in this paper. The proposed C-CSRR consistes of four nested CSRRs, which can realize a quad-band bandpass response. It is found that the proposed filter has a high and wideband common-mode (CM) suppression. Moreover, the center frequencies of the four differential-mode (DM) passbands are independent from the CM ones, which can significantly simplify the design complexity. As an example to verify the practicability, a balanced BPF with four DM passbands is designed and the simulation results are in good agreement with the measured ones.
