Abstract

With the development of the Joint Commission's “Agenda for Change,” traditional surveillance techniques must be modified. Our response as a community, not-for-profit hospital has been to discontinue total housewide surveillance and move toward focused reviews of five hospital-specific indicators. The development process, the indicators, and the schedule of activities are outlined, along with a few of the limitations.
