Abstract

The Treaty laid down the guide-lines of the Common Transport Policy and these are given on page 32. A memorandum on a Common Transport Policy on the lines of Article 79 (1) was submitted by the Commission to the Council of Ministers on 28 April 1961. After the Ministers of Transport of the Six had agreed on 28 November 1961, to consult each other about any future legislative or administrative changes in the transport policy of their own countries, the Council of Ministers asked the Commission in February 1962, to present detailed proposals for a common transport policy for roads, railways, and inland waterways by May of that year.
