Abstract

IntroductionThe Language Assessment, Remediation and Screening Procedure, known universally by its acronym LARSP, is now in widespread use among speech therapists and others concerned with teaching and research in relation to grammatical disability. Introduced in Crystal, Fletcher & Garman (1976), it has been further discussed in subsequent publications (Crystal, 1979, 1981, Crystal & Fletcher, 1981, Garman, 1980), and recently it has appeared in a revised form in Crystal (1982). (The revisions are also outlined in the new edition of Crystal, Fletcher & Garman 1982: 209-14.) the purpose of the present paper is to review the LARSP procedure as it now stands, taking into account too the appearance, again in Crystal (1982), of the associated semantic profile PRISM-G.
