Abstract

The spontaneous breaking of the Poincaré algebra in systems of quasi-particles coupled to a gauge background is discussed. We show that the restoration of the Poincaré algebra in three dimensions and zero chemical potential is achieved by adding a massless scalar mode or a massive spin-one mode.
