Abstract
Summary The use of linear programming in valuation does not imply taking a view on market efficiency. Very small samples preclude regression‐based valuations, whether conducted within a classical or Bayesian framework. Multi‐collinearity, associated with small samples, may pose a significant problem when attempting to undertake an econometric‐based valuation. The escape from these difficulties lies in more widely available data.
