Abstract
ABSTRACTA course in electrical circuit analysis and our understanding of electrical engineering starts with Kirchhoff's laws showing their importance. Contrary to this it is suggested here that mesh and node transformations are more fundamental than Kirchhoff's laws. Kirchhoff's laws can be interpreted as consequences of these transformations. They need not be seen as postulates. Tellegen's theorem can be proved without using Kirchhoff's laws.
