Abstract

Abstract The computation of the unsteady flow about mechanisms with components in relative motion has become an important topic in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) ([3], [1], [8], [6]). One such mechanism is the NASA Variable Diameter Centerbody (VDC) inlet in which the axisymmetric centerbody can translate and change diameter to adjust the mass flow rate and stabilize the flow.
