Abstract
AbstractA sensitive and quick assay method was required for the determination of cationic detergents in aquous solution of biological origin. A number of assay methods for cationic detergents has been published (e.g.1,2,3,4). The best results were obtained with the colorimetric method, described by Auerbach2, the principle of which is the formation of a colored complex between bromophenol blue and the detergent. This colored complex can be extracted from aqueous solution, with an appropriate solvent, and measured colorimetrically.
