Abstract
A colon model made of latex has been designed for the purpose of teaching flexible fiberoptic sigmoidoscopy and colonoscopy. The student using this model can acquire familiarity with flexible fiberoptic techniques in a reasonably authentic setting and, as a result, should be better prepared to perform actual colorectal flexible endoscopy with an appreciable reduction in the potential hazards to the patient as well as a reduction in anxiety and tedium for the instructor.
