Abstract

Speed profile optimization of multi-train is an effective way to improve the utilization of regenerative braking energy (RBE) in urban rail transit (URT) system. Recovering the RBE of a complex operation process with multiple braking segments is rarely considered by relevant studies. Based on the analysis of the energy model of two-train system considering the on-board auxiliary system, this paper gives the optimal traction force which is time varying to recover the RBE completely during the absorption process. Optimization method of the tracking train is introduced with no limited to a fixed control strategy of the front train, which simplifies the operation process to the switch between four control modes and only one transition point needs to be found. Simulation results based on Guangzhou Metro Line 8 demonstrate the effectiveness of proposed method.
