Abstract
The energy market is extended to an open and cross-border level and has increased the competition among the energy supply companies. The energy suppliers focus on the provision of smarter solutions by using the Industry 4.0 digital technologies to industrial customers. These services are linked to energy consumption and could affect the operational costs of the SMEs and suppliers. Therefore, in this paper an energy Industrial Product Service System (IPSS) framework is proposed, towards the creation of a Smart service-based energy ecosystem. The proposed framework has been validated in a real-life case study with a European electricity distributor company.
