Abstract
Objective Persistence to use of oral hypoglycemic agents has been recognized as an essential factor to achieve optimal glycemic control. This study aims to evaluate the factors associated with discontinuation of oral hypoglycemic agents among a Chinese hypertensive population. Design and method From a validated clinical database we included all adult patients 18years or older who were prescribed at least one oral hypoglycemic agent in any Government primary care clinics in one large Territory of Hong Kong during 01 January 2004 to 30 June 2007.
