Abstract

Web services composition taking into account the Quality of Service (QoS) criteria is the one of the most important problem in the service computing community. It consists to select services among a set of functionality appropriate ones under QoS requirements such as response time, availability, etc. In this paper, we propose a coalition formation based model for the composition of Web services that uses some QoS criteria. Each composition process corresponds to the construction of a coalition that includes, in addition to the service consumer that wants to compose Web services, a set of service providers that are judged as best partners. These partners, represented by software agents, have enough autonomy and participate too in the service composition process. The way that these partners take part in a coalition is done one by one according to the choice of all the coalition members. This choice is mainly based on QoS criteria.
