Abstract

A citation analysis of doctoral dissertations was conducted for the department of Atmospheric and Environmental Sciences at the University at Albany. A total of twenty-nine dissertations submitted between the years 2000 and 2010 yielded 3,298 citations. These graduate students relied on journal articles (85.1 percent) more than books (7.6 percent). A list of twenty-six core titles was created. These results will be useful for the University Libraries and other institutions with collections in atmospheric sciences.
