A CIS- or Transassociated DQ Heterodimer Predisposes to the Gluten Sensitive Enteropathy seen in Coeliac Disease and Dermatitis Herpetiformis

Abstract

In order to address the question of a common genetic link predisposing to the enteropathy seen in both dermatitis herpetiformis (DH) and coeliac disease (CD), we have investigated HLA DR, DQ and DP associations by restriction fragment length genotyping in 80 CD patients, 23 DH patients with gluten sensitive enteropathy and 53 controls.
